Michele Lewis is a 40-year-old teacher, mother, and writer. She has a bachelor's in English and a master's in secondary English education. She's been teaching high school English for eleven years in Maine and Colorado. In 2003, as a single mom, she took a year sabbatical from teaching, cashed in her retirement, and wrote this story. Currently, she lives in Colorado with her two children and the man she loves.
